Carbon Monoxide poisioning from faulty heating systems is a real danger, especially during winter months. Please have your furnace & chimney flue inspected and cleaned by a licensed professional anually. You must maintain carbon monoxide detectors in your home. They are to be located 10 feet outside the door to each bedroom.
Clean (vacuum/dust) and test your smoke detectors monthly. Most smoke detectors have a life often 10 years, so frequent tests are very important.
Keep the appropriate type fire extinguisher mounted in your kitchen, garage and cellar. Make sure everyone knows how to operate the fire extinguisher, before there is an emergency.
Statistics show that 4% of all home fires start in clogged dryer vents. In addition to removing the lint from the lint trap after each use, the lint must also be removed from the inside of the dryer hose on a regular basis. A vacuum cleaner, or a special duct cleaning brush that is made solely for this purpose, can be used to clean the entire length of hose, from the exterior vent to the back of the dryer. This should be done approximately every six months, depending on how often you use your dryer.
Trash is collected every Friday, while recycling is picked up every other Friday. Please ensure the bins are placed outside by Thursday night and brought back into the garage for storage by Friday night.
We kindly remind everyone to drive slowly and with extra caution while traveling through our community. Children are often at play, riding bikes, or crossing streets, and their safety depends on our vigilance. Please adhere to the speed limits and stay alert at all times to ensure our neighborhood remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
